Strong Towns Chicago - Witness Slips
We need your support pushing Illinois bills on housing and transportation forward. Fill out a witness slip for priority bills before the upcoming deadlines.
A witness slip is a quick, formal way to tell your state legislators where you stand on a bill before it ever comes to a vote. It takes about 2 minutes and anyone can do it. Pay close attention to whether the position listed is PROPONENT (support) or OPPONENT (oppose).
How to file: Go to my.ilga.gov, find the bill, and fill out the short form. Watch Bike Grid Now’s video guide shown here for step-by-step instructions and additional key fields are:
"Self" in the firm/business field
“N/A” in the title field
"Self" in the representation field
"Record of Appearance only" in the testimony field
Pro tip: Create a free MyILGA account first so your info is saved for future slips.
