Tell Chair Jimenez to call housing legalization bills now

URGENT ACTION NEEDED FROM ALL IL RESIDENTS

You may have seen from Abundant Housing IL that the Illinois House's Housing Committee didn't give any of the housing legalization bills a hearing. The Housing Committee chair failed to call the bills today – these are the ones that start undoing exclusionary zoning, cut red tape, and allow more homes to be built.

HB 1813 & HB 3552 - Legalize ADUs
HB 1814 & HB 3288  - Legalize Missing Middle Homes

If they aren't given a hearing before Friday, these bills could be dead for the year. Join our friends at Abundant Housing IL and email Chai Jimenez and Speaker Welch to tell them to advance these bills!

We need EVERYONE to send an email, it doesn’t matter what district you live in as long as you are an Illinoisan.

Follow the link here for their tool to customize your email to push for these bills to be heard!

As always, be sure to join us on our email listSlackInstagram, and BlueSky if you’re not already!
